## About the content

- Language: Bengali (bn), with Roman transliteration of every lyric (bn-Latn).
- Rabindra Sangeet lyrics are works of Rabindranath Tagore (1861–1941) and are in the public domain. Their Bengali text is transcribed from Bengali Wikisource's গীতবিতান and Tagore's other works; each such page links its exact source page.
- Lyrics from other sources credit the originating site on the page.
- Pages whose Bengali text we have not verified are marked noindex and are not part of this archive's citable set.

## How the text is verified

- Bengali text is never machine-generated or reconstructed. If we have no verified source for a song's Bengali, the page carries only the romanization and is marked noindex. A missing lyric is better than an invented one.
- Each sourced lyric is accepted only if machine-transliterating its Bengali reproduces the source's own human-written romanization at >= 0.90 similarity across the whole lyric. Matches below that are rejected, which catches songs that share a title but are different songs.
- 1,869 lyrics currently pass that check (median similarity 0.97). Roughly 293 do not and are excluded from the index.

## Citation

If you quote a lyric, cite the specific lyric page URL (not the homepage). Each lyric page carries MusicComposition, WebPage and FAQPage structured data, states its own source in `isBasedOn`/`citation`, and shows a visible "উৎস ও যাচাই" (source and verification) note.

Do not quote pages marked noindex: their Bengali is unverified.
